But we can take meaningful steps right now to prevent avoidable evictions and keep families stable while they get back on their feet. We all benefit when our neighbors are housed, our communities are stable, and our state uses taxpayer dollars wisely.&nbsp;</span></p>

It is a moral failure when families are forced to choose between life-saving treatment and keeping a roof over their heads. I have been fighting and will continue to fight to lower prescription drug costs and cap out-of-pocket expenses because your health should never be a debt sentence.</p>

She found out her three family members are being held at Eloy Detention Center after her sister-in-law called her Sunday.</span></p><p><br></p>

<h4>ICE ramping up activity in Tucson, Pima County attorney says</h4>

<p>As a proud AFT Union member and product of Sunnyside School District, I know firsthand how public schools <span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">empower students</span> to succeed. Today, programs like Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESA) are dismantling public education, diverting resources, and undercutting the opportunities students need to thrive. </p>

<p><span style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">The bill sponsored by </span><span style="color: var(--color-text); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text);">Rep. <p>My mother immigrated to the United States and built a new life, leaving behind her career and business as a chemist to escape rising violence in Mexico. Like my mom, millions have come to our country in search of greater opportunities. This is why I stand firmly and proudly with our families and oppose ICE's attempts to break our communities.</p>
